I want to buy a Sony NetMD mini disc player recorder, but Sony software will not support my Macintosh operating system. Is there a solution elsewhere?

From all the reports I've read the NetMD idea was good but the implementation was poor. Weird file formats, limited bitrate etc. Anyhow if you REALLY want one there's open source Mac software at http://www.sorted.org/~pete/Xmd/ but its somewhat limited.
