Profile storage space errors

I've inherited a mixed network win2k and win nt4.  The network uses a single domain for login and roaming profiles.  The profiles have a set storage space of 30mb and users keep getting storage space errors.

I have used poledit on the server connecting to the local machine to change the profile storage space and to up the limit and remove it and I've also tried changing the local registry settings to up the limit or remove it.  However everytime I change it when the user logs back on the profile is reset to the 30mb limit.
Any suggestions?

I wear a lot of hats - Developer, Database Administrator, Help Desk, etc., so I know a lot of things but not a lot about one thing. Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.

You need to change the policy that is on the domain controller(s).  It should be named ntconfig.pol if this is a Windows NT 4 domain.  You don't say what OS the domain controllers are running, so I'm assuming NT since this question is in the NT TA.  Once changed, save the policy as NTCONFIG.POL and place it in each domain controllers NETLOGON share.

Though it is a bad idea of using profiles as if they are homedir. I never liked this concept of MS. I have changed all defaults of my user so that they (by default) save only in their area (and not on desktop or My Documents in their profile). This way I guarantee a log on time of less than 15 seconds for my users.
