Sorry - didn't know the location of your pages...

So, all the other links in the image map open in the main frame window, except for the pdf link. Is that correct?

where and how can I find that frame set code.
Please tell me then I wil post the frame set code

seanpowellCommented:
The frameset code is what generates the overall frame for all pages. It's probably index.html or index.htm.

seanpowellCommented:
You shouldn't have any problem adding the target to the image map...it may be because of all that webbot code.

Can you try using this for the page, and let me know...

Can you try using the above code instead? (Keep a copy of the existing one...)

seanpowellCommented:
The main frameset code could also be default.htm - it's hard for me to know which...

Piriki123Author Commented:
I tried pasting your code for the context.htm and the same thing is happeening. It is opening in a pop up window.

Is your web site online? Can you provide a link to it?
0

Piriki123Author Commented:
It is internal website, I don't think you can able to get to it. How can we work this one out. After I copied your page the nav bar itself not displaying now. I cannot even click on the link. The nav bar image is not displayed.
Anyway try this, this is the URL http://testpipe.nigas.com/projoffice/

It's going to be more difficult without accessing the site, but that's okay.

In your original image map - with the page open in Normal View - right click on the "pdf link" hotspot in the navbar and select Picture Hotspot Properties.

If it doesn't say main in the "Target Frame", click on the little pencil icon, and type the word "main" into the dialog box.

Let me know...

I will really apppreciate your help

Are you sure that the frame page is named "main" in the frameset code?

One of the pages in your folder, or the root folder of the site, contains the code that creates the frameset. Do you know which one that is?

Piriki123Author Commented:
I found default. html is the frameset code. I am not sure this is frame set code or not?
 I am attaching code for the default.html
<html>

<head>
<title>HOME PAGE</title>
<meta name="GENERATOR" content="Microsoft FrontPage 3.0">
</head>

<frameset framespacing="0" border="false" frameborder="0" rows="87,*">
  <frame name="banner" scrolling="no" noresize target="contents" src="BANNER.HTM">
  <frameset cols="177,*">
    <frame name="contents" target="main" src="CONTEXT.HTM" scrolling="no">
    <frame name="main" src="BODY.HTM">
  </frameset>
  <noframes>
  <body>
  <p>This page uses frames, but your browser doesn't support them.</p>
  </body>
  </noframes>
</frameset>
</html>

I tried target changing to Contents, no use, it is still opening in pop up window.

seanpowellCommented:
Your frameset code looks fine.

Are you testing this in Internet Explorer, or in FrontPage "Preview"
0

Piriki123Author Commented:
I am testing in internet explorer

seanpowellCommented:
So when you add the target to the hotspot link with the method I mentioned above, and save the page - does the target still get removed from the code by Frontpage?
0

Piriki123Author Commented:
No target = main is still there in the page when i see the code in text editor,  Then I don't know why it is not displaying in the same page. I remember In the past when I did taget = main it workked. I don't why it is not displaying here.
Thanks for your patience

seanpowellCommented:
Can you create a normal text link to the pdf in the navbar, with the target set to main.

I want to see if it's the image map that's the problem, or something else.

Piriki123Author Commented:
I tried linking to excel document it is working fine, I don not know why when i link to odf it is not working properly
IS because PDF is an embeded file, I remember in past i did it .in the same window

seanpowellCommented:
If you create a normal page - no frameset at all - and create a link to the pdf, does it still open in a new window, or the same one?
0

Piriki123Author Commented:
Yes, It is still opening in a new window.

seanpowellCommented:
Then the problem is likely IE and Acrobat, and not your code at all.

From Acrobat - go to File > Preferences > General, and make sure Web Browser inntegration is checked.

Piriki123Author Commented:
Worked - I changed in Edit preferences and checked (display pdf in browser), It took care of it seanpowell, Thanks a lot for your help, You have lot of patentince. I appreciate your help

Thanks....

Piriki123Author Commented:
but I ahve one questions though I changed in acrobat, will it change in only my pc or everybody who use it will also see change right?
0

seanpowellCommented:
That preference is "usually" set automatically when Acrobat is installed. For some reason your's was not checked - perhaps becuase of recent installations of either Acrobat or IE. Anyone that experiences that same behaviour would have that happen on "every" site, not just yours. So it shouldn't be an issue :-)

Thanks,
seanpowell

Meaning the change that you just made "on;y" affects your PC, no one else's...
