hi,

Question: You know some function (pl/sql) to remove accents of strings?
example: string "João" - "Joao". In this in case, you can use the function traslate (), but it isn't ideal resource.

try this:

convert ('João', 'US7ASCII', 'WE8ISO8859P1')

The only problem of this function is that it doesn't convert the signal ~

Example:
joão -> jo?o
Joáo -> Joao

It has another skill to I convert the words that use the signal ~  ????

hmmm? then I guess translate or replace function are the best you can go with...
