We use G4 because our network is composed of 7 Mac and we have Quark Xpress license 4.1, Adobe suite... So it's lot of money to update all the systems and its software. Otherwise I do agree that OS X is much more efficient and powerful. I've test the ethernet card and they run ok but I still have troubleshooting... Probably due to the system itself...
Thaks anyway
dfacc

ping from each machine 127.0.0.1

this is loopback address..it will tell you if the card can see it self... thats a start..

then ping the router from each one of your machines....
