linksys network adapter "cannot associate with the access point"

I may have originally posted this in the wrong place (dsl/modems). So I am reposting it here:

I having been using my linksys wireless access point router (802.11b) with my wpc11 adapter for a while, then all of a sudden, I can’t get the adapter to work. I get the message “cannot associate with access point” on the adapter manager. So I assume my problem is with the router. I have tried to uninstall the program and reinstall it. I have uninstalled it and deleted all references to it in the registry. And I have updated the driver from ver 3 to ver 4. (my wpc11 is ver 3 but I hear it works with ver 4) Nothing I do works. HELP!!

Has anything changed on the AP? Have you eneabled WEP? Can you look at the AP logs and see when or why the workstation cant associate?

just want to know, have you tried if any other AP could work with your wireless adapter, or any other wireless adapter could work with your AP? it is simple but will tell you which caused the problem.
I have the same problem using BEFW11S4 v4 firmware 1.50.10 and wpc11 with Windows XP, I have disable all security in the router, but is impossible connect from the laptop.
