Flash Lighthouse Effect

I need to make a flash animation for a lighthouse graphic.  I need the lighthouse light to rotate in a circle and illuminate some words.

Like the one here:
http://www.norco-rx.com/lighthouse.swf

I've got tutorial on spotlight effect - but it doesn't rotate.

Anyone know how to do this or where I could find a tutorial or a template?

I've spent almost a whole day searching.

THanks, April

Well, I had hoped to find out how one would make a lighthouse effect in the best way - using Flash MX 2004.  But no one else seems to have an answer and I don't want to leave this question open for too long.

I don't have any problem using shapes and tweens.  I'll do some more digging because I'm not too familiar with how to make a "cone" shape.

But you've answered quite a bit of the mystery for me.  Thanks.

made a simple light beam for you to study
thought it is one symbol..I had to alter the size at each keyframe so it panned
in a straight line

www.redpearl.co.nz/misc/spotlight1.zip

to use it with the mask you would chop a circle shape out of the top of the beam
and sync the two tweens

even in Flash 2004 there is no easy way for many many flash effects..and the
only way to get a custom effect like this is to build it. (someday you might be
able to get a component to do this..but I wouldn't hold my breath)
