It probably means there is a tape in the drive, try taking the library offline and with the buttons on the front issue whatever command to move tape from drive to an empty slot. Also run an inventory and it should tell you where all the tapes are. Assuming it is a tape stuck in the drive and it's a DLT library search your manufacturers website for &quot;dropped leader&quot; and you'll find the proceedure for disassembling the drive to get the tape out.<br />
