how to import local profile to a new domain in a different server
Hello,
I have mirated all users and groups, permissions to a new domain running W2K server SP4. There is a 2 way trust between domains so that users can authenticate in either domain. Users are still authenticating in the old domain. My intention is to unplug the old domain. My question is how can I take the old domain offline and still keep their local profiles? I've tested this out on 1 user by disabling his account on the NT 4.0 domain and logging into the AD domain but none of his settings are loaded. I have to manually install his local profile. Is there a way to import his local profile to the new domain?
Many thanks,
Alexis Crawford

This solution is only available to members.
To access this solution, you must be a member of Experts Exchange.
Therefore you can use the MS Windows 2000 Resource Kit tool MOVEUSER.exe (you will have to log on as the local administrator of that machine).
Another way is to use the Windows Resource Kit tool SUBINACL.exe by replacing the Domain in the ACL (subinacl /subfolders "c:\ Documents and Settings\" /changedom=OLDDOMAIN=NEWDO
Remember:
For both tools to work you must have administrative permissions on the userprofile.
Hope this helps.
