I have an exchange server that is pentium IV 1.7GHz and 1GB RAM with Windows SP4 and exchange SP3.

The server was working fine with about 200 users and suddenly the process store.exe is taking 100% of CPU ! I have set the Information store servie as manual and then restart the server. The CPU usage is normal and when I start the service it again takes 100% of cpu and keeps like that. the exchange clients are not able to connect to the machine.

Please help as soon as possible

Darron b,

I am using exchange 2000 server. I still have tried that patch, but it is still the same...

What does the Que look like?

Is your relay locked down as well? Make double sure a virus hasnt hit you and is hammering the server.

do you have mcafee groupshield installed?

if so a fix is available from mcafee  (search for Gs452kh1.zip)

failign this all i can suggest is trawling your way through this lot

There is virus, I checked the server carefully. The Antivirus is Trend Micro. I also installed Norton, but still it is the same. I will try some of the procedures in the link that darron b sent. Thanks.

Unfortunately the case does not apply on the exchange server I have. The update in the link is already installed, The server still the same. Thanks

Dear All,

Thanks for trying help. I found the casue and the solution of the problem.

I run the server and then run outlook for the clients one by one. I have noticed that when I run one of the PCs, the problem occured. I switch of the server and that client and then the problem happened again. I logged with the user name on another machine, the same happened. Something happened with that user name. I have noticed for some reason that in Outlook the mail box is repeated ! I don't understand that, but that what happened. I have tried to remove the mailbox and put it again, but the same happened again. So my last solution is to delete that user name and create another one. Now the server is fine.

I will be happy to give the points for anyone who is capable to explain to me how that happened

Thanks all, mdbanat
