Determine number of text columns of selection in Word 2000 VBA

Hey all,

I have a template that has some complex formatting.  Some of the template is in one column, and some in two columns.  I have written a macro to paste tables and charts into this document.  The macro asks the user if they want the table/chart to be pasted into one column or two column format.  I need to determine how many columns exist at the insertion point so if the text is currently in one column and they select two columns to paste the table/chart into, then the macro will reformat at that point to be two columns.  Hope I'm being clear on this.  Basically, I need to determine how many text columns are in the active selection.

Thanks for any and all help.
