I am using an Excel spreadsheet that does certain calculations based on required inputs to the spreadsheet. Is it possible to send that by e-mail and still retain all of the original charcteristics of the spreadsheet, so that the recipient will be able to use it in the same manner as I do?
If so, how?

Hi Frank:

Try this:

From the excel opened file click menu File>Send to>>Email address (as attachment)

the text in menu could differ from reality because i am a spanish user. But the text between parenthesis should be there.

I don't quite understand your directions. Can you please elaborate? Thanks.

I did as instructed and sent the e-mail to myself, but was unable to check the results because when I opened the attachment, I get a message that says "OE removed access to the following unsafe attachments". I just recently downloaded OE 6.0.

In OE:

Tools - Options - Security

Uncheck: "Do not allow attachments to be saved......."

Should solve your problem regarding the "unsafe" attachments.

For Excel:

Open the workseet you want to send and go to Tools > Protection > Protect Workbook

Select Structure and click OK.

AFAIK you can email it as an attachment and will be received unchanged.
