How do I disable automatic workstation lock?

How do I disable the automatic workstation lock?  I already configured the Screensaver to NONE in the Display Properties.  Still, the Windows 2000 Professional PC would lock by itself after being idle for a number of minutes.

Are you in a domain >? In that case check with your system admin

Also go to control panel --> schedule tasks and check if any task related to locking is set

You might also want to go to your Power Options Properties and make sure that the System Standby is turned off...

Hi Sunray..  Good to see you again..!!

Thanks for your responses.  The Windows 2000 Pro PC is a standalone.  I also have configured the Power Options properties to ALWAYS ON for Power Scheme and NEVER for the rest.  The problem still persists.

I would appreciate help from you guys.
Possibly a third party application that was installed..??   Never seen a BIOS setting for this, but maybe you could check to see..??

Let us know while I look around for other answers..

Control Panel --->Power Options--->Properties--->Power Schemes ---> then choose Presentation

Good Luck
if it is locking then it is a screen saver password,,,, right click on your desktop and go to screensaver,,, i bet you have password protect checked
I found the culprit.  It's the password protect option in Screensaver.  It is checked.  However, even if I choose None for the screensaver or any screensaver, the Password Protect option is always checked and dimmed.  Is this because the registry was modified?  Which entry in the registry should I check?
if your computer is in a domain it is greyed out b/c of a requirment put in place by your system admin via a GPO,,, i know b/c i have this on my network. FYI,, if your system admin forgot to disable allowing you to change the screensaver,,, you can set it to none like you mentioned and they system will NOT lock.
The PC is a standalone.  It is not connected to any domain.
