im new in java programming. i had program in vb that utilizes the sendkeys in an as/400 emulator. how do i call the as/400 (client access express) in java and be able to use the sendkeys and gettext by specifiying the coordinates to send and get the text. please help!/

you cannot specify coordinates to "send Keys" only activate the desired window, send your keys and hope focus wasn't lost in the process.  Alternative to SendKeys is the Windows Message, you can put keys in the windows message que, but you wont know the current cursor position.  The only way to get the current cursor position is if the terminal window is a "console" window, to find this out do a GetConsoleWindow.

i will be doing the program in java. i would like to know the equivalent of the suggestion in java i.e. GetConsoleWindow. Also, what is the equivalent in java of the sess.myarea(x,xx,y,yy) syntax. the sess is the terminal emulator e.g. client access/400 and area would be the screen. i will surely appreciate your answer/comments.
