why cant you just set it statically?? use an address in the same scope as the one you are trying to get from DHCP. &nbsp;Otherwise you will need to set up another server as a DHCP relay agent.

You can't set a static address. &nbsp;Try it and see. &nbsp; If you set a static address the alternative configuration tab dissapears. &nbsp;

I am trying to test a new VPN connection and DHCP is giving me some problems. &nbsp;I need one machine that resides on the external side of our ISA server. &nbsp;This machine is running XP. &nbsp;In order for me to use the alternate IP configuration option I must be obtaining my address automatically via DHCP. &nbsp;The problem is that there is no DHCP server on that segment and nothing I can use at the moment. &nbsp;The ISA server is running DHCP for the internal network. &nbsp;Is there any way to add a scope for the external segment without causing problems with the internal one? &nbsp;Is there anyway to use the alternat configuration option without using DHCP?
