I have a fresh load of WIN2000 Server and I am getting error code 7000 wtih a message of:  Event Type:      Error
Event Source:      Service Control Manager
Event Category:      None
Event ID:      7000
Date:            2/12/2004
Time:            10:07:05 AM
User:            N/A
Description:
The Windows Installer service failed to start due to the following error:
The system cannot find the path specified.

I have found the service is pointing to a profile that no longer exists or is roaming.  Is there a way to change where this service points to and if so where?  Thanks!

I did as you suggested and I am not receiving a new event notification:

Event Type:      Warning
Event Source:      MsiInstaller
Event Category:      None
Event ID:      1015
Date:            02/12/04
Time:            11:56:05 AM
User:            N/A
Computer:
Description:
The description for Event ID ( 1015 ) in Source ( MsiInstaller ) cannot be found. The local computer may not have the necessary registry information or message DLL files to display messages from a remote computer. The following information is part of the event: 0x80004002, (NULL), (NULL), (NULL), (NULL), (NULL), (NULL).

Any Ideas?
which program you are trying to to run?
is it at system startup?
how installer service is set up? i.e Auto, man, disabled.
