Temporary Open Source Email Server

Hi Guys,

I need to setup a temporary email server for an interim period between moving from a outsourced/managed system to an Exchange Server.

I need the system to be effectively free (excluding hardware) including the operating system, av scanner and email server - as we are fully budgeted on our exchange server.

It is for a small office with 17 users.  Ideally it will not manage the email storage as currently this is only done by outlook in .pst files, and will make the transfer to Exchange reletively easy.

Our current managed system recieves the emails through SMTP forwarding from our ISP and just virus scans the emails.  Any emails that are sent to certain members of staff are duplicated to certain other members of staff.

Is there any way that we can do this?  And what hardware requirements would be necessary.

Thanks B
