I have a PM 400 G4 APG that boots into open firmware, but then boots into
OSX and runs ok. I'm new to macs so any help would be appreciated.

Thanks

Hi,

I've always wanted to get a Mac but could never afford one. I've been using a windows/athlon setup, but finally got a Mac, but it has start up problems.

I got a PM G4 400 APG, when its plugged in the pwer btn is lit, I press it but nothing happens.
To start it i pull the plug and reattach it and it starts. I'm also having problems there, when it starts there is one electronic tone then the normal mac start up bong. From there it boots into open firmware, where it asks if I want to boot type "mac-boot". From there it boots into OS X.24 with no other problems.

I don't know if it matters that I'm using a logitech cordless mouse and keyboard. I got a PM G4 keyboard from ebay which should be here soon. I know there is a power up button on the mac keyboards. Could this be part of the problem.
I was guessing maybe it might also need a bio update? I'm a total Mac Newbie so any help would really be appreciated.

Thanks,

Victor

the only way to start it is to pull the plug and reattach it. I
