A little info about your network will help, do you use the internet? What OS's are being used? number of systems? etc.

All the computers are directly connected to the internet.  They all have XP home on them and there are only 3 machines.
for home network, netmeeting will be good enough, with voice, text and vedio chat.
http://www.microsoft.com/windows/netmeeting/features/default.asp

its almost available in versions of windows.

windows 2k &xp

To activate NetMeeting, click Start, Run and enter the following command:

CONF.EXE

This will start the NetMeeting Setup wizard.

BTW, this will also work for W2K, only that you don't need to run the command there simply because NetMeeting is already present in the Start menu: To use NetMeeting on Windows 2000, click Start, point to Programs, point to Accessories, point to Communications, and click NetMeeting.

for older versions download here:
http://tucows.planet.nl/preview/193932.html

post info about your network (protocol, connectivity etc), so we can go further

right
run ipcnfig/all on command prompt, on all three machines, note there IPs and start connecting to them via netmeeting.  remember the first time you run netmeeting, it will go through the wizard to configure. once done, run netmeeting, click onCall menu and setuo to auto accept calls.

Since all computers have Internet access, you can also use any one of Instant Messaging.  Microsft Messenger, Yahoo Messenger or AOL Instant Messenger.  Download and install them.  www.aim.com, www.msn.com, www.yahoo.com.  All computer should use the same messenger.  AIM is the leader at the moment.

Gnart
gnart, these messenger are good suggestion but if the internet is down..due to any reasons, these messengers wont work. the second issue could be the speed, they will not be fast as the netmeeting running on LAN and no need to create IDs.

I have dail up and aol so even with our 2 phone lines.  Only one person can be on at a time and i can't get netmeeting to work without internet, but haven't tried it with internet yet.
you dont need internet for netmeeting, unless your machines are on LAN. You said you hae three comptuers on home network, so i think thats the good reason for using netmeeting, becuase it doesnt need itnernet, i works just fine on LAN as well.
if you can ping the IPconfig/all of all three macines here, we will be able to tell you if your macines are communicating with each other.

Yes i can IPconfig/all all the machines.
ok, paste the results here, if you can ping the IP address of these machines from each other, then netmeeting should work using iP address.
