Nope. Once the data has been written over, it's gone. It's like an audio tape. Once you record over what was there, it's gone.

However... a clean install installs a new system folder, unless your colleague reformatted the drive which sounds like what happened.

I think I already know the anwser. But hopefully someone out there has leads. A colleague was having trouble with her G4/400 and instead of doing a system re-install she did a clean install. Now not having backed up, I think prior info is toast. <br />

But is there any way, or any software that can be used to recover prior files/directories that was lost due to a clean system install?
