System management needs to be done. Discover all hardware and software running on computers across LAN, ie CPU, memory, hard disk space and usage, etc. Also, constant monitoring of system health with alerts and notifications if something happens. Finally network usage, ie Bandwidth used, and what it was used on.
I think I will have to use a combination of hardware appliance and software. I have looked at micro2000.com, employeemonitor.net, silverbacktech.com, and a few other places. Any suggestions would be helpful. I need to most cost effective solution to this dilema. Time is not an issue. I have explored the OpenSource world of Linux and found it could be done using those tools but since I'm managing a world full of Microsoft I guess I should stay in this arena.
Thanks in advance for all of your help.
