I have seen a post somewhere here or another board and cannot find it for the life of me.

What I am trying to do is setup a resource using an autosink which is not a problem.

I read somewhere that you could change the delivery options for the resource mailboxes and they would give out undeliverable messages if scheduled as a attendee, or optional.  This would force users to always schedule a resource as a resource as they would instantly get a response back that their message has failed.

Anyone rememer something like this floating around out there?

If your users all have Outlook 2000 or higher, you really don't need a server side scripting or sink solution. Starting with OL2000, Offline Resource Direct Booking is built-in. You just need to configure the resource mailbox correctly and the users need to invite or reserve it as a Resource on the Meeting Request.

But they still are required to use their own judgement and schedule it as a resource.  Only about 80% of the people can remember this simple fact that you must schedule a resource as a resource for it to work properly.

I was looking for a way to notify the user at the time they tried to book the resource that it failed, instead of the day they show up with another conflicting party.  Yes, if they do not receive a reply that means it did not work, but they also do not understand this concept as well.  If i could rig up some kind of electric shock theropy for when they mis-invited a resource it might be the start of some self learning.

I think the popup warning should read "Obviously you are to stupid to follow simple instructions. Please proceed to the nearest manager and inform them of your stupidity so they can help you pack."

The above works if you dont use an event sink, but it does solve me problem. I think i will setup the reources as suggest using outlook 2000 resource scheduler and only use the even sinks on the more advanced resources where i need to customize them.

Thanks for you help.   And dont tell the users we want to hurt them.. shush.
