I've about 15 workstations on my network.  I recently bought an E-machine running windows xp pro.  I've tried adding it to my network, but have been unable to map drives from this new machine.  I can access the web through this machine. Can you give me any ideas on what to look for that might be wrong?

Can you ping the other computers' NetBIOS names? Can you map to the other computers by IP address?
