Application Event id 1000 occurring every hour

Hi,

I am new (today) to EE!  I am running IIS 6.0 on Microsoft WebServer 2003 with SharePoint Team Services.  Every hour at 11 minutes after the hour, I get the following two errors in my application event log.  The first error is an information error.  The source is FrontPage 5.0 and the Description is Microsoft FrontPage Server Extensions:  Error reading IIS default Vroot info.  The second error is a Warning.  The source is FrontPage 5.0 and the description is Microsoft FrntPage Server Extensions:  Error #3005f Message:  Unable to read configuration for Microsoft Internet Information Server.

I have tried various things such as disabling "Log authoring actions" and making sure my default web site is in the inetpub/wwwroot folder (at least on one server.  The other server has the default website in inetpub/www.  I'm getting the same error on both servers).

Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
Karen

Do you use the FP extensions? If not disable/uninstall them.

Hi Karen and welcome to EE,
I just found a Microsoft KB article refering to the errors that you are receiving.
Let me know if this helps

Re comment from stone5150

Yes, I am using the FrontPage Server Extensions/SharePoint Team Services so I can't disable them.

Re comment from kabaam:

Hi to you, too and Thanks for the welcome.  I looked at this KB article - it doesn't apply to IIS 6.0.  In 6.0 each application has its own web pool.

Hi,

have you got some kind of scheduled task running or something?

what do the IIS logs tell you when these errors show up?

also, is the IIS restarting at those times, or anything else wierd happening?

cheers,  Mike.

Nope, no scheduled tasks are running and I've not found anything in the logfiles.  IIS is not restarting and no other errors are being thrown.  Just these two.

Thanks much
Karen
Just curious klrobey - did you get this fixed?  I am having the same issue - it is because of a FP form submission. FP extensions do work on one site but for some reason they do not want to work on another site.

If you have Sharepoint on this server, regardless of if you are using it or not, Check to make sure that the Microsoft SharePoint Administration site is started in the IIS console.
(yes they are running).  It is / was only on a few websites, not all of them.
