I am running Windows XP Home on a Sony PC, Pent IV, 1.4GHZ, with 256 MB RAM. &nbsp;I connect to the web using SBC DSL.<br />

About two months ago I began getting an API connect error whenever I try to download files or programs from MOST internet sites.<br />

the actual error reads:<br />

Windows socket error:no connection could be made because the target machine actively refused it (10061) on API connect<br />
<br />
<br />
This has occurred on numerous sites over the past months. &nbsp;Most of these sites I have accessed from another computer and been able to download with no problem.<br />

Any help appreciated as this is REALLY a bug and a pain<br />

API CONNECT ERROR (10061)
