I have build 809 of perl from activestate and im wanting to get Win32::ODBC to work but having troubles, there are so many files from www.roth.net thats its confusing, I dont know which file I need to download, and dont know what to do.

I just want to open up access and grab data from fields.  can someone help me!

im using WindowsXP pro, Visual Studio.net  IIS 5.1 I believe, perl build 809

I can use OLE to grab stuff from excell or word, but I need ODBC to get stuff from access and it just wont work.

I even set the DSN in ODBC manager.

I'm not sure if you absolutely have to use Win32::ODBC, but I've found that its better to use the ODBC extension to the DBI interface.  This would be better because:

1) Portability.  DBI-ODBC is cross-platform; you can make minimal (one-line) changes to the source, and use a completely different database.  This is especially useful if your host is considering a change in architecture.

2)Support.  The DBI-ODBC uses the DBI interface, so you can essentially use source code available online for DBI in your application.

I have personally used the DBI-ODBC, and it works, so that's always a plus, too.

There is also some sample code available in the CPAN documentation: http://search.cpan.org/~jurl/DBD-ODBC-1.09/ODBC.pm

Thank you so much.  Ive been trying for days to get a simple output to the browser of a MS-Access file.  My most current issue was getting things working only from the command prompt, and failing at the web-browser, even though I assigned the DNS as a system, not a user DNS.  Thanks so much  finally got my output.
