Preventing NDR notifications

Our email server is getting crushed by the volume of email it is currently processing.

We have exchange 2003 setup, and it receives about 40,000 emails a day to non-existant email addresses at our domain.  Of course the server responds with an NDR reply for each one.  This seems like such a useless thing, it is bad enough we have so much CPU power & bandwidth to receive the emails then we turn around and send a reply (often to a non existant domain name).

How can we disable the NDR reports in exchange for non existant email addresses?

Hi

This should do it:

Open "system manager"

Expand "Global Settings", Click on "Internet Message Format". Then, on the right hand side right click on "Default" and goto Properties.

Click the advanced Tab and then you can choose whether or not to have NDRs.
