i have made a simple client server VB program that should connect.
But the XP default firewall stops the connection.
My question is why can some programs like p2p file sharing ones like kazaa connect without any issues but mine wont?
how can i change mine so i can use it with my  firewall?

thanks.

Kazaa relies on having an outgoing port 80 to anywhere on the Internet.
It uses this outgoing port for both incoming AND outgoing application data, that is encapsulated in such a way that firewalls will see incoming appliction data still as part of the original outgoing port 80 request.
