opengl frames rate

when i tried to run a opengl program in a computer having cis graphics card(32mb)  i was getting a poor frames rate
when i tried to run  the same program in a system having onboard graphics card i was getting a better output.why is it so?

Well, it's hard to say without knowing the specifics between the two video cards.  But the amount of memory a video card has is not a very good gauge of how fast it is.  It could be that the system with an onboard graphics card is using a pretty good chipset that's actually a lot faster than your 32mb card -- that wouldn't surprise me.  And of course the CPU and memory on the two systems can also be a factor.
