DW MX 2004 can't upload, FTP client can

I have a site that I can connect to from both DW MX 2004 and an FTP client.  

The ftp client can download and upload.  DW can only download. When I try to upload, I get this message:

"An FTP error occured: Cannot put file. filename.html, access denied. The file may not exist or there could be a permission problem"

Again, no problem with my FTP client.

The same exact condition holds true on both the Windows and Mac versions of DW MX 2004

Try checking the "Use passive FTP" option in the remote info configuration.

If you are uploading to a directory that you do not have permission to write to, you will get that error message. Also, when you upload a file from your computer that has the same name as the one on the server, you will be replacing the remote file. again, if the file is read only, you can not overwrite it.  

Make sure that your permission is set to 644 for that file (if you are using a UNIX server). That way, you can write to that file (because you are the owner) but others can only read that file.

It turns out that I just didn't have "write" permissions. The hosting company fixed it.
