Okay, we can help, but first we need some more details:

1) What version of GroupWise are you running?
2) What service pack level are you running?
3) Please explain your Domain/Post Office structue a bit further
4) Is this a rename problem or a move problem? It is very difficult to tell from your description.

OK here we go..
Well we are running Groupwise 5.5 with nor service packs that I know of only joined the company 7mnths ago, so I am a beginner within this company..
There is a newish Netware 6 server which has he secondary domain on it.
Netware 4.11 is primary which still has few users on it that need to be moved, but they have huge mailboxes...
The problem is when we try to move them it goes all funny, Replication still in progress..
No backup solution is up running yet so hopefully that will be solved over the weekend...
Ok running NWADMIN...
Groupwise View...
Groupwise system is Company Name
---- Germany Domian/ Post Office        Secondary
---- Main Local Domian/ Post Office      Secondary   want to change it to primary...
---- America Domian/ Post Office         Secondary
---- Italy Domian/ Post Office               Secondary
---- Primary mailbox on Old server which we need to move users from..  (Netware 4.11)

The Link configuration between the domains and post offices is fine...
The problem again is that no updates have been performed on the server but I am ready as soon as I have a backup in place..

At the moment we are also getting message handler errors Maximum reached on the Main Local Domain..

Thank you agian hope it is enough info for you..

Sorry forgot to answer last question well its the move and rename which is a problem.. We have tried a move with a user before with a big mailbox.  When trying to get info for user it says still in Replication cant change anything for user.
Also it shows that user has been moved to the new Italy mailbox but the mailbox is still in the old mailbox???

* How big are these mailboxes?
* Did you backup the user DB before moving the user?
* A mailbox move is the most complex operation you can perform on a mailbox, ALWAYS wait for it to complete (watch the post office agents at originating and receiving ends)
* The Rename is pretty simple, but if it is queued up behind an incomplete move, you may have to back the change out of pending operations.

Things to consider:

1) Check your originating domain for pending operations
2) Check the link configuraion to ensure that you are using TCP/IP between agents
3) The Maximum reached message is usually caused by too few TCP/IP handler threads, increasing this on the POA will help, don't go too high or you can kill the server with message handler hreads
4) A corrupter defer database can hold up mailbox moves in version 5 of GroupWise
