Using Regular Expressions in Interdev 6

Hi all,

I have a need to search a set of .asp pages and return a list of the pages that do NOT include a specific string. For example, as Maintenance work is being done on pages, we are placing a specific string tokens at the top of the page:

SQLID

Any page that has had maintenace done to it would have this string at the top of the page (or some other, unique token).

I'd like to return a list of pages that do not have a specific string anywhere in the page using the Visual Interdev Regular Expression search under the Find dialog in Interdev.

Regards,
Mark

The problem is that regular expressions in search dialog are only single line. So you can't make one that search entire file. Maximum achievable is to get it to list you all lines in all files that do not contain specified string.
Either change the way of your workflow or use Source Safe features to track changes, or you could write small script for widnows scripting host that will be able to read entire file and run regular expressions on it.
