At a 2000 box and trying to add a group called 'Sam-Inventory Control'
to the list of local administrators.  The wizard won't take the whole name.
I could perl/vb this but.

On the dc, is the 'Group Name (Pre-Windows 2000)' in the group properties dialog:
 group_property->general_tab the name that must be shortened to all entry via
the workstation's user diaglog? (It does say 'pre' and my workstation is a 2000
os)

Is there a native(already there) command line tool that I can use to
install this group in the list of local administrators?

OK, if not, is there a quick tool I can pick up off the net?

Thanks

have you tried clicking start->run->lusrmgr.msc
and navigating to the user under Users.
Double-click the account and add Administrators on the Member Of tab...??

Wonder why that isn't tied to the control panel's 'people'?
Thanks again.
