I get this error when I start Windows 2000 Server. Please help. Thank you.

Does it boot though?

If so checked the Event logs to see if it gives you any clues or most warning/errors here.

Well, the MSDN link explains the reason for the failure pretty well:

This is a Windows 2000 Executive character-mode STOP message. It indicates a hard disk device driver internal error.

I would consider this Q as answered, since it is hard to exchange a hard disk via EE...

Thank you to jkr and others who offered suggestions. I ended re-installing the OS instead of trying to fix the problem. This was an acceptable way out since the disk did not have too much on it. Thanx all.
