sysupd.exe - DLL initialization failed
Posted on 2004-03-27
a few days ago, my computer detected a virus called the download trojan. i started following the steps on symantec on how to remove the virus and when i got to the step where i had to do a full system scan, the search came up with nothing. since then, there has been no virus detection messages that have popped up. so i suppose that the virus is gone. i might be wrong though, i'm not sure. since then, every time i turn off my computer, right before shutting down, a window pops up and says sysupd.exe - DLL initialization failed. so my questions are:
what does this mean?
does it have anything to do with the virus?
how do i fix this problem?
if there is any possibility that the virus is still on my computer, how do i get rid of it?
thanks in advance.
