I have a Compaq Presario X1000 laptop.  I have upgraded the operating system to Windows XP Professional.  I did this IMMEDIATELY after opening the unit to rid myself of all of the Compaq "droppings" that installed into the OEM version of the OS.  Well, now I seem to have an issue.  The USB ports on the laptop are USB 2.0 ports but I cannot seem to find the drivers for the laptop.  Does anybody know where they or how I can install them.  Usually with USB 2.0 you need to run a setup program, but I did search for drivers on all Compaq supplied CD and have yet to find it.  I have also searched online and have not found it yet.
