Recovering deleted emails

I use Outlook Express and have deleted a some emails over the last few months.  I would like to recover them now.  Is there any way to do this?  I did talk to a friend of mine who said that I could use dos or c Promt commands to locate them because microsoft actually employs hidden folders that have every email I have sent or recieved whether it was ever delted or not.  If you know what he is talking about or have an easier way it would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you

the only thing i am aware of is this

http://www.oehelp.com/DBXtract/Default.aspx

Also if you had backed up the inbox or any folder (*.dbx file) prior to deleting some of the files in that you can restore them back

I would say if you had not backed up your email and that it is removed from deleted folder also , then you are out of luck
