You could try this connection string:

"Driver={Microsoft ODBC for Oracle};Server=OracleServer.world;Uid=Username;Pwd=asdasd;"

where is the especific name version for oracle8i is equal to or not.
the (NOTE: The following Oracle8 and Oracle8i ODBC Drivers are Version 3.51, Level 2 compatible drivers.)confuse me.

Your server needs to have the Oracle client installed to connect to Oracle.

If you go to www.microsoft.com/data and download the MDAC 2.8, it has a Microsoft Oracle ODBC driver in it. You can then use the connection string above...
