ODBC Setup Library Locked Error

Hi,

Trying to install some software that uses an ODBC connection to a database but before the installation routine begins I get the following error:

"The ODBC Library is locked. ODBC setup will not continue."

I have restarted the PC and tried again thinking this may be a solution but still get the same error.  C

Can anywaone please offer some advise.....

Look forward to the replies.

Yeah it is win2k.  What administrative rights exactly should I be checking?  Weird thing it was working, I uninstalled some software and tried to reinstall and then I got this message.  The user is the administrator of the PC.
win 2k is an NT based operating system
and to make any changes in the operating system are specificfied by the administrator of the machine or the OS u can say so right click on my computer and go on manage and see local users and groups and click on admin rights and ssee if ur user id is there or not if not get u r self admin rights first then u will be able to work on the ODBC
i am not sure
but wha i see this is the prob 99% this is the problem that is y u are unable to use u r ODBC

ODBC Setup Library Locked Error
I have had the same error on O/S XP.  I have admin rights and when I go to ODBC Data Source Administrator I see nothing that I understand as far as the possibility of making changes.  What now???
