Windows 2000 Member Server Administration

Hopefully this is an easy question.  Can anyone out there think of any drawbacks to altering the local Admin passwords on Windows 2000 member servers, to make them more secure?  I know the basic drawbacks but I want to have all my ducks in a row when its come time for the proposal.

Thanks

I can't think of any drawbacks to changing the local admin passwords on Windows 2000. It's a good idea to make them as strong (i.e. long and complicated) as possible.

If you're referring to the pain of having to go around all your servers to change them individually then there is a utility that you can use to script the password changes. It's called cusrmgr.exe and it's in the Windows 2000 Resource Kit.

Hope that helps.
