Can I use ActionErrors in my own servlet, and use the corresponding Error tag in JSP pages to display errors, without using the struts framework (e.g. struts-config.xml, action class)?
Hope to get some kind of confirmation from experience user.
thanks!

Yes.  You just need to use the right key when bunging the ActionErrors into the request/session/application.

See Struts constant values:
http://jakarta.apache.org/struts/api/constant-values.html#org.apache.struts.action.ActionMessages.GLOBAL_MESSAGE
