Synchronizing my address book in Outlook
Hi folks,
Synchronizing my address book in outlook express 6.0 is driving me crazy. Recently I am not able to synchronize my address book with my hotmail account. When I click on synchronize it seems it's doing the update (at least the progress bar shows so) but after it's done, no change! What the problem(s) might be. Any ideas appreciated....

no, I am just using the outlookexpress address book...it used to synchronize with my hotmail contacts pretty well but stopped that after I formated my HD and reinstalled OE.
check your hdd for wab files, then
Opening WAB address Books
Locate wab.exe and run it from command line
wab Opens the default Address Book, the one used by OE
wab /? Display this list of switches
wab /a Opens the default Address Book in administrator mode, allowing access to all folders of all Identities. This switch is not
displayed in the /? list.
wab /Open Shows a file dialogue to select a *.wab file
wab /New Shows a file dialogue to create a new *.wab file
wab filename.wab Opens the specified *.wab file
wab directory-name Opens a file dialogue to select a *.wab file in the specified directory (folder)

Not sure if this might make a difference, but check to see if Tools > Options > Do not share information ... is unchecked?

PeteLong,
Thank you for your reply. I am not sure how the cammand line options for running wab.exe that you have posted is related to my problem.
Mob-bom:
I could not find the option that you said in OE 6.0. It might be in the previous version of OE or in Outlook.
I have solved my problem using the Import address book utility on the hotmail site (instead of using the synchronizing utility of the OE). However I will assign the points to PeteLong for directing me to the link that addresses the problem in OE.
Thank!

The cause indicated at the link: "The address book is synchronizing with non-Latin-based character sets. " probably doesn't apply to me. Besides there is no resolution indicated for this problem. Is there anything you wanna add to that?
