Importing Excel Data into Outlook Contacts

When I try to import excel data into Outlook Contacts, it imports blank lines and multiplies the data range 10 to 15 times the amount data to be imported.  I am looking for the steps to setup the excel data corectly in order to import said data into Outlook.
