Need a step-by-step procedure to automate a task like defrag on a workgroup consisting of Win2k servers, WinXP workstations and Win2k3 servers.   500 points for a complete answer

The built-in disk defragmenter for w2k and XP is a cut down version of Executive Software's Diskeeper package.  This cut-down version cannot be scheduled.  Our enterprise deployed the full version of Diskeeper, which offers fully functional schedule features, and others features.  Additional functionality depends on the version you purchased.

Thanks for the points.  Sorry there isn't an answer which doesn't require a third party product :(  That has caused me no - end of grief in the past too.
