For no reason, customer computer lost all printers. Found the MSKBA 811348 and attempted to restart the spooler.  Tries to launch, but then fails.

Any luck with W2K repair procedure on this one, or is it "toast" time and O/S reload?  System fairly new....less than 4 months since build and clean W2K install with all updates and SP4.  Customer was trying to print from MS Word document when system lost printer icons.

When spooler fails to load, are there events in the Event Log (System and/or Application) related to the failure?

Also, check the C:\WINNT\SYSTEM32\SPOOL\PRINTERS folder and delete any .SPL and .SPD files in there before you attempt to restart the spooler.
