troubleshooting Question

Tasks don't update on my task pad

I am trying to use Outlook tasks to track long term projects lasting for several months or even a year or more.  I need to track the status of each task assigned for long periods of time.  Several status reports over many months will be sent to me.  When I tested the send status report feature today only the first status report was sent to me on my task pad.  The rest of the updates were sent into my email inbox.  No rules or filters were applied.  All correct options within Outlook were selected including Tools | Preferences |Tasks Options.  On the original task request I verified that the check boxes reading “keep an updated copy of this task on my task list” and “Send me a status report when this task is complete” were checked.  What steps should be taken to ensure that each time someone sends a status report or modifies a task I’ve assigned to them I get a current update.  Are there configuration issues that I should consider?
