User Profiles

Hello,

I currently have a problem with a user logging on to a network.

When the user logs on the following message appears:

"Windows cannot copy file \\SERVERNAME\profiles\USERNAME\Application Data\ to location C:\documents and settings\USERNAME\Application Data\ contact your network administrator

DETAIL - Access is denied

During this time a 30 second countdown appears

After you press OK you then get another message:

"Windows cannot load the profile and is logging you on with a temporary profile. Changes you make to this profile will be lost when you log off"

Again during this time a 30 second countdown appears.

I've only just been put in charge of this network as the previous person walked out on the company, so I've no idea what is going on.

I've checked all permissions for this user including the profiles directory on the server and the shared drives which the user maps to and all are ok.

I think this is a roaming profiles issue but I'm probably wrong.

Any help is much appreciated

Many thanks

Usually when you getting Access Denied it is permissions.....

Have you double checked the permissions from the properties of the USERNAME folder? Does that user have full control? Also be sure to click "Advanced" under "Security" and check replace all permissions on all child objects and click ok twice.

Was it the child objects?
