Hello

I have developed a software application in VB.Net and SQL Server (sql server is on my network server)... For reporting purpose, i am using crystral reports which comes with VB.Net.. The application & crystal reports connects fine to the sql server and is working fine from my computer.

Problem comes when i install the application on other computer... following are the error which i am facing.

1) I am using OLEDB connection + Sql user Authenticate for the crystal report connection. So whenever i run a report it shows me the Database Login form, which requires a username & password from me.... then i used following code a passed user information to the crystal report....

        Dim frm As New frmPreview()
        Dim rpt As New rptOverDue()

        Dim TLIs As New CrystalDecisions.Shared.TableLogOnInfos()
        Dim TLI As New CrystalDecisions.Shared.TableLogOnInfo()
        Dim con As New CrystalDecisions.Shared.ConnectionInfo()

        con.ServerName = modDBConnect.GetODBC
        con.DatabaseName = modDBConnect.GetODBC
        con.UserID = modDBConnect.GetUser
        con.Password = modDBConnect.GetPwd

        TLI.ConnectionInfo = con
        TLI.TableName = tab
        TLIs.Add(TLI)
        frm.cView.LogOnInfo = TLIs

        frm.reportConn("DM_Issue")
        rpt.DataDefinition.RecordSelectionFormula = whereQuery

        frm.cView.ReportSource = rpt
        frm.MdiParent = MdiParent
        frm.Show()

Now what happed is that it is woking fine on some computers and on other computers it generates error saying "File Missing" or "keycodev2.dll missing". I also checked for this file and it was present on the other computers but still it is generating the same error... I donot know which file is missing??? I first installed the Microsoft Framework 1.1 and then my software on the computers, then i also created ODBC connection... but all is of no use

can anyone tell that what do i need to do now.??? What are the essentials which we need ot install before making crystal report work??? WHAT IS THIS ERROR ABOUT...

Waiting for answers......

Majid,

The keycodev2.dll missing error is a simple one to fix.  In your installation package for the application you need to make sure regwiz is included in the package and you need to set the license number property of it to the license number shown in Visual Studio's Help->About.

This is simply a security safeguard to insure that any redestributed Crystal modules are properly licensed.  Note that this applies even if you use the modules given in mlmcc's link above - you must specify your license number or it won't work on client computer.
