Hi,

Does anyone know how to disable the touchpad on an IBM Thinkpad r30 so an external keyboard & mouse could be used ?

Also, would anyone know the specific part numbers of the keyboard, mouse & "Y" connector that would be required for this application ?

It appears that generic mice & keyboards don't work from a local Office Depot.

Thanks

If you plug any external devices in it should disable the internal ones automatically. I am currently using a Thinkpad A31 with a USB KB & mouse and I don't do anything other than plug them in. If you are using USB peripherals, then you don't need to worry about a Y connector at all (you may need a USB hub if the TP only has a single USB port). If you are wanting to plug in PS/2 mouse & KB, then yes, you will need a Y adapter. You can get generic ones or "proper" IBM ones.
