For some reason we have one user who has a problem with the email that has an attachment. He can't open or save the attachment.
There were a number of problems with his setup. We reinstalled Office XP and installed SP3 which helped and I unchecked the option under the General Tab of Options "ignore other applications" which helped as well. We are in a Win2k SP4 environment
The problem only seems to be with 2 files. He can launch the file outside of Outlook (either by double clicking the file in the folder or opening the file from within excel) but he can never add the file as an attachment nor open or save the file from within Outlook.
Oddly, changing the name of the file to anything but DAILY PL DISTRIBTION.XLS seems to resove the problem. Even DAILY PL DISTRIBUTIO.XLS works. I doesn't make sense
I also searched for that file in regedit and on the PC and deleted any reference to it. The same thing happens to a Adobe attachment called WTI GET COUNT.PDF
